Danielle Burrill

Master’s Clinical Intern

Hi, I’m Danielle — a practicum student completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I’m passionate about supporting young people through life’s ups and downs and creating a space where they feel safe, heard, and empowered to be themselves.

I love working with teens and young adults because of their honesty, resilience, and the unique perspectives they bring to therapy. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck in patterns that don’t serve you, or just trying to figure out who you are and where you’re headed, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and zero judgment.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and flexible. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy, while always tailoring our work together based on what feels most helpful to you. I also incorporate mindfulness and values-based tools to help build emotional awareness and reconnect with what matters most. My work often focuses on things like anxiety, stress, perfectionism, identity, and low self-esteem, especially for teens navigating academic pressure, social expectations, or just trying to manage the many moving parts of life.

Outside of sessions, I’m a bit of a creative nerd at heart — I love anything to do with art, storytelling, or fantasy worlds. I recharge by binge-watching TV shows, sketching ideas, or diving into a good book or podcast. I’m always looking for new recipes to try, new places to explore, and I absolutely light up when I get to travel and experience different cultures. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a big adventure abroad, I find so much inspiration in the world around me.

I believe that therapy works best when it feels like a team effort, and that you’re the expert in your own life. My job is to help make sense of the hard stuff, offer tools and strategies that make things a little lighter, and remind you that change is possible.

Looking forward to connecting,

Danielle
